Offering courses for years 5 –13, leading to internationally recognised Singapore GCE O-Level and A-Level, Cambridge IGCSE, O- Level and A-Level, and Pearson Edexcel IGCSE and International A-Level qualifications, Miles Edu Online School is a highly selective independent school, where dedicated teachers, with the aide of our on-campus homeroom teachers, help talented students worldwide pursue their passions in real-time, online lessons.

HOW IT WORKS

Our learning system is a balanced mix of online and on-campus study which we have developed based on our many years' of experience in education. Your child can study with Miles Edu Online School from anywhere in the world. We now have students from different countries worldwide.

On-campus Homeroom Teacher (HT)

Homeroom Teachers (HT) are responsible for almost everything concerning their class such as the student's welfare, character building and also acts as the on-campus teacher aide at our learning hub to support online learning. Alternatively, parents may also opt for full online schooling for their children.

How HTs monitor progress

Regular monitoring and reporting as the students progress through their courses.
If the student's HT has any concerns or if the student is missing assignment deadlines, parents will be contacted directly.
Where appropriate HTs will encourage the students to keep on track.

Online Learning Platform

The easy to use interface of our Online Learning Platform allows students to quickly access their courses. Course modules, assignments and tests are all simple to find. Students can submit assignments and message their teacher via the Messaging system. Teachers grade and send feedback on student assignments, as well as to respond to messages. This platform also helps students to be organised and lists the work they need to do next. Every student has their personalized timetable, and the calendar feature helps to keep track of real-time live classes. Just like a conventional school, students attend classes and interact with their teachers and classmates according to their timetable. Parents may track their child's progress and will get regular updates from their child's teachers.

Virtual Classrooms

With an average class size of 12, our web-based classes allow students to engage in every aspect of a course through real-time discussions. Students speak to teachers and peers, annotate on-screen class materials, seek clarification or to introduce new threads of thought, and write on shared whiteboards to inspire collaboration and solicit classmates’ input. Students see their classmates and teachers during classes through video feeds, maximizing class interaction.

Flipped Classroom

Students prepare for discussion classes using video tutorials, recorded lectures and/or other course materials sent to them before the scheduled discussion classes. These preparatory activities enable students to use discussion classes to deepen their understanding of the topics learnt. Since every class is recorded and available for playback, students may revisit specific segments—a perk that comes in handy around exam time.

Extra-curricular activities and sports (Optional Add On)

Activities like weekly homeroom meetings, all-school assemblies, guest-speaker series, research colloquia, service projects, and meetings for student-run clubs, student government and sports ensure students stay active outside the virtual classrooms.

Assessments and Reports

Topical tests are conducted at the end of a topic. Students will sit for summative assessments at the end of each semester. Progressive Reports are provided at the end of each academic year. This will show the student's readiness to move on to studying at the next year level.

Qualifications

At IGCSE level, all of our courses lead to the Cambridge (CIE) exams. Students are awarded with IGCSE,

O-Level, or A -Level certification by Cambridge International Examination.
